Orwell Dev-C++ is free and open source software released under a GNU General Public License (GPL). This means that you can use it for free, for as long as you want. You won’t have to part with your hard earned money to enjoy the functionality Orwell Dev-C++ has to offer. If you do want to part with your money, you could support the project by making a donation.

A setup wizard will help you get Orwell Dev-C++ up and running on your Windows PC. Said setup wizard will ask you to pick between a Full, Minimal, Safe, or Custom Installation. The Full Installation covers the following: core files, icon files, TDM-GCC compiler, language files, associate with C and C++ files, Start Menu and desktop shortcuts.

When you’re done with the installation and you launch Orwell Dev-C++ for the first time, a dialog will ask you to go through a few configuration settings: choose one of many languages, select a theme (font, color, icons).

Once Orwell Dev-C++ is up and running, you can use it to start a new C or C++ project and work on a Windows application, console application, static library, DLL, Direct3D program, file editor, and so on. This is where I have to tell you that Orwell Dev-C++, a fork of Bloodshed Dev-C++, is a free and open source C/C++ IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for programmers and developers. It features syntax highlighting, code completion, editable shortcuts, GDB debugging, external tools, and more.

Programmers and developer can put Orwell Dev-C++ to good use. A fork of Bloodshed Dev-C++, Orwell Dev-C++ a free and open source C/C++ IDE.
